Keesa
âSo, what do you think, Keesa?â Raina asked as we stood in a shaded area at Lanie Park. There was a lake nearby, making the venue even more beautiful as the sun went down.
âI think itâs nice. The perfect place to have a wedding.â
Grinning from ear to ear, she said, âI know. Isnât it gorgeous? I love it.â
âI donât know, babe,â Cyrus stepped in. âI still think we should keep the wedding inside. So much more can be done with an inside venue.â
âAnd so much can be done with something held outside. I have the perfect wedding planner.â
âI understand that. But since Iâm the one putting up most of the money for this, I think we should keep it inside. Besides, the lady that Iâve chosen to do the planning has some pretty great ideas for the place I showed her. I think youâll love them.â
âThe lady you chose?â my sister frowned. âWhen did you choose someone?â
âOh, Iâm sorry babe, I forgot to tell you that I met up with Sonya Price yesterday evening. I was trying to surprise you with it, but I didnât want to say too much until I knew for sure she was going to be available. Turns out she is. She called me earlier today.â
I could see the fumes slowly making their way from my sisterâs nostrils. âSo, if you knew all of this, why did you agree for us to come here today?â
He kissed her forehead. âI knew how much it meant to you.â
âSeriously?â I blurted. âThatâs your response?â
âKeesa, please,â Raina pleaded. But I couldnât see beyond the hurt expression on her face, and the aggravation that was raging inside of me. His actions were an asshole move, and somebody needed to tell him.
âNo, heâs wrong as hell for this. Whyââ
âLetâs take a breather.â Jayce grabbed my hand and pulled me away.
âOh, Iâm going to need a lot more than a breather. Did you just hear that shit?â I questioned while still eyeing Cyrus and my sister who was just a few feet away. âSee, thatâs why I donât like his ass. He literally went behind her back and changed everything. He treated her like a fucking child.â
âYeah, that wasnât cool.â
âI hope she tells him to kiss her ass. I know I would.â
âI already know,â Jayce replied with a chuckle.
âWhatever. Iâm just saying, if you ever pulled some shit like that, you would be marrying your damn self.â
âOh, so what youâre telling me is you want an outside wedding when we get married?â
I stopped, realizing how quickly this conversation had taken a turn. âI didnât mean to say that.â
âItâs cool. I know weâre not that far in the game yet. But one day we will be.â
âJayce, how did you go from pretending like you didnât hear me pouring my heart out to you before I left town, to telling me what you would agree to at our wedding?â
He shrugged. âI had a lot of time to think and even more time to miss you.â
âOh yeah?â
âYeah.
